Book Fair: December 1st-5th
Debate Team Putnam City Tournament : Nick Halterman (6th grade) won 1st place against all grades. He was undefeated in all rounds! Way to go, NICK!! Kelly Bergin (10th grade) finished in the top 8 & Fahina Chowdury (7th grade) finished in the top 16. Kelly won top speaker points out of 43 entries. At our Qualifying tournament we took 2nd place sweeps. The following students qualified for regionals: Melanie Lunardi - 2nd place Poetry; Melanie Lunardi / Alyson Colin 2nd place HD ; Jessica Shinske / Alissa McMurtry 3rd Place HD ; Jessica Shinske - 2nd Place HI; Raleigh Logan - 1st Place DEX; Raleigh Logan - 1st place MO; Graham Carrol / Colin Morrow - 2nd place DD; Olivia Kavanaguh - 2nd place MO; Olivia Kavanaugh - 1st place DI; Adrian Bumpas - 3rd Place SO Congratulations debaters, speech students & Ms. Londa Madron.
More All State Choir News Congratulations to: Elvie Ellis, Marshall Wade, David Sergent, Griffin LaVictoire, Kaleb Bruza, Thaddeus Johnson, Claire Deveney, Audrey Thomas, James Foster, Melanie Lunardi, Megan Simons, and Andrea Coleman for making the Oklahoma Music Educators All-State Mixed Chorus and Oklahoma Choral Directors Association All-State Women's Chorus. These students competed against 1500 other students for 25 seats in each section! Congratulations!! Nutcracker Dance News Classen SAS will not be staging its own Nutcracker this year. HOWEVER, many of our Classen dancers are participating with 2 professional Oklahoma ballet companies who will be presenting the Nutcracker this December: December 6th & 7th The Tulsa Ballet Production at Rose State Performing Arts Center in Midwest City. 7th grade Classen Dancers Irene Mann and Ali Hendrix will perform with this nationally proclaimed dance company. Buy tickets at 297-2264 December 13-14 & 19th-21st The NEW Oklahoma City Ballet at the Oklahoma City Civic Center. Many Classen dancers will participate in this all new production of the Nutcracker! Watch this newsletter for a list of their names. Tickets can be purchased at www.balletoklahoma.com If your dancer is participating, be sure to contact Classen News at classenptsa@yahoo.net. so that all Classen dancers can be recognized.
