Tuesday, Oct 23rd 2:15 Mr. Payne's room PTSA President’s Corner October 20^th Hello everyone!  I hope everyone had a restful fall break.  Can you believe we are already two months into this school year?  Speaking of October, it is time for another PTSA general meeting, and I am writing to invite everyone to attend.  It will be held this Thursday, October 23^rd, at 2:15 p.m. in Mr. Payne’s room -- the little theatre across from the school cafeteria.  (We will move over to the cafeteria if there are too many people for the little theatre to accommodate).  As you may recall, the PTSA board of directors chose to schedule three of our six general meetings at this time in the afternoon, to coincide with the end of the school day.  I hope this time will encourage parents, students and teachers who are already on campus to come to our general meeting! I also hope that we have successfully tackled those beginning of the year glitches and hiccups, and that we can work together on Thursday to more effectively and efficiently accomplish the business of our Classen SAS PTSA.  In addition to the required treasurer’s report, expect to hear a brief audit report, some standing committee reports and updates, and a report on the recently created special bylaws committee.  Also, remember that -- in accordance with our standing rules which were approved by the membership during the September general meeting -- PTSA membership enrollment will end two hours prior to the beginning of our Thursday meeting.  Therefore, if you are not a PTSA member but would like to become one so that you may participate in the Thursday meeting, you must fill out a form and pay the $5 dues before 12:15 p.m. on Thursday.  Don’t delay!  We want to hear from everyone.  See you on Thursday!                      -Jennifer Puckett PTSA President-  ByLaws Committee Any PTSA member who is interested in joining the recently created special bylaws committee should contact: Jennifer Puckett (jennifertpuckett@yahoo.com  842-6722) or Ann Matheny (mamatheny@okcps.org or 842-4811) You can also join when you attend the next general meeting on Thursday, October 23rd, at 2:15 in the school auditorium.  All interested PTSA members are welcome to join this committee, which will work on and may eventually propose revisions to the current PTSA bylaws. Classen Directories will be in on Wednesday!! Every child will receive a directory. Buy extra directories in the counselors office. Look for them in the bottom of the backpack on Wednesday, Oct 22. IB Parent Meeting October 29, 2008 5:30 – 7:00 Classen Auditorium This meeting will provide an opportunity for parents to gain information about the different areas of the IB program. Cross Country News Junior Jamie O'Connor earned his fourth cross country medal of the season last Saturday in Enid. The runners closed-out their regular season Thursday at the pre-regional meeting in Marlow. GAPP 2010 is selling Holiday Greenery to raise money for their trip to Germany in June, 2010.  All greenery items are fresh cut & delivered the first week of December, 2008.  We offer 26" wreaths $20, 24" swags $16, 36" mailbox swags $22, 34" Xmas Tree shaped Wreaths $31 - all of these come with a bright red bow.  You can order a 26" wreath delivered anywhere in the USA by mail for $31.  We also have 18' fresh cut garlands for $26 and scented pine cones in a crate for $17.  We even offer brass hangers to go over the door for only $5.    To order, see any club member or email Frau Boudreau at njboudreau@okcps.org.  Thanks for your support.
