NOMINATING COMMITTEE
At Tuesday night's PTSA meeting, Beth Croll, Bea Scofield and Lou
Kohlman were elected to the Nominating Committee. They will serve
along with current President-Elect Jennifer Puckett and an
administrative representative to be named by Valerie Harris, who are
also included in the Nominating Committee according to the Bylaws.
The committee must put together and propose a slate of nominee PTSA
officers for next year at the April general meeting.

The officers include President, President-Elect, Vice-President,
Teacher Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Each officer is
elected separately. The
President-Elect position is like a Vice President or Vice Chair.
While the President-Elect does not automatically assume the
presidency, it has been the PTSA practice over the last few years to
nominate the currently serving President-Elect as the next
President. This is a common practice in many organizations, as it
provides some officer continuity and allows a kind of on-the-job
training for the PTSA presidency. However, all positions will be
open for nomination. Nominations will also be accepted from the
floor for each position before the vote is held in May.

The committee needs to hear from you. If you are willing to serve as
an officer, please contact one or all of the Nominating Committee
members (email addresses are listed below). Please do the same if
you wish to nominate someone else; the committee will contact that
person and confirm that he or she is willing to serve as an officer.
Time is short; the slate must be presented at the April meeting. The
slate of officers will be presented again and the vote will be held
at the May meeting.
