Tomorrow night is Open House at Classen SAS!
Plan to come and enjoy one of the best times to see old friends, get
acquainted with new parents and meet with your childs teachers. Here is
the schedule:
- 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Picnic on the Grounds with PTSA
selling pizza, Booster Club selling sodas and various student groups
selling food items and promoting their organizations
- During this time, you may sign up for PTSA membership, buy the
new Classen SAS logo t-shirts and sweatshirts, turn in your
information form for the school directory and buy a brick paver
for $50 for the new plaza being built in front of the school.
- 6:00 to 6:25 p.m. PTSA meeting in the
auditorium. Not only can you come to the easiest-to-attend meeting of
the year and get all the information we have to offer, but you will be
given the plan of circulation for visiting teachers in their rooms.
- 6:25 to 8:25 p.m. Visit teachers in their classrooms
- Parents will visit teachers in the order of their childs
schedule, which will be available. To save time in line, print out a
copy from SmartWeb or have your child write down their schedule in
A-day/B-day order with teachers names and room numbers.
- Most teachers will be in their regularly assigned room, but for
those without permanent room assignments, signs will be posted in
the halls with their locations.
- There will be 10 minutes in each classroom with 5 minutes in
between rooms, so be prepared to enter each room and take a seat as
the teachers lead the discussion. There will be a signup list in
each room to make appointments for individual conferences.
See you all tomorrow night!

Parent Teacher Liaison
Chair
Christi Hill-Savage 848-6176 /

The
mission of the Classen PTSA Parent/Teacher Liaison Committee is to help
parents stay involved in their childrens school life and to help the
teacher to get what they need. Be it a wish list, volunteers in the
classroom, giving of money and/or time each Parent/Teacher Liaison is
there to be of service. Think of this as a grown-up Homeroom parent
without the parties. Once a student hits middle school, there seems to
be a breakdown of communication and involvement the Parent/Teacher
Liaison helps bridge that gap. The liaison should be available for
contact via phone or email (preferred) and should keep other parents
informed as best as they can they will be the teachers right hand
man. Most responsibilities can be taken care of from home and it is a
good way to connect with the teacher like most others never will. We
will have a liaison orientation meeting in a couple of weeks that will
detail all the information involved.
Following is a
list of teachers who have not yet been placed with a liaison if you
are interested please reply to
Christi@swatokc.com
ASAP - as the liaisons will be placed in order of reply. Also, list at
least 3 teachers
in order of preference in
case your top picks have already been taken.
Thanks for your support!!
