THIS IS AN "A" WEEK SO FRIDAY IS AN "A" DAY

DRAMA PRODUCTION:  I know there is a play starting on Wednesday, but what I don't know is the name or the time or the cost but I promise that I will know by tomorrow so stay tuned for further info!!!!

REMINDER:  The rescheduled Enterprise School informational meeting will be held on Monday, February 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kerr-McGee auditorium in Meinders School of Business, Oklahoma City University.  Many thanks to Dean Vince Orza for his generous contribution of this facility that allows us to avoid impeding the students at Classen who are busy getting our auditorium ready for a performance.  The location of the meeting is NW 26th & McKinley - from Classen & 26th, go west 4 blocks… hope to see you all there!

LOST COMPUTER - Hello, my name is Kristella Sallee, I'm in the 9th grade. I've had my UMPC stolen (mostly, I think that someone just confused mine with theirs and picked up the wrong one. It's the benefit of the doubt.) from Pourtorkan's room during 3rd/2nd lunch/hour. The registration number is 205

LOST - Blue nintendo light with black color inside.  Lost   the last hour of Tuesday in PE class.  My home phone number is 471-6213, cell is 659-5710 or 659-9756.  He just got it as a reward for making straight A last semester not even for a week.  He brought it to school, and it was gone.  Thank you so much

Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics is graduating sixty-four seniors, five are former CSAS students:
Gabrielle Chen, David Hoang, Sishir Mannava, Jennifer Melot, and Abby Stickler. On February the 13th, four CSAS teachers were recognized for their influence in these students' secondary education: Carolyn Burkes (Gabrielle); Janet Kingsolver (Sishir); Jack Harding (Jennifer); and Neill Chaffin (Abby).

BOX TOPS - Classen SAS is collecting General Mills Box Tops!  There are two ways for you to earn money for our school.  The first is to collect the Box Tops from products in the cabinet - each one is worth 10 cents.  Please look at the products in your cupboards and check for a Box Tops 4 Education label.  If there is one, clip it off your box and send it to school with your student.  There is a collection box on the shelves in the Counselors Office.  The second way is to go online to BoxTops4Education.com and sign up.  Every person that signs up generates 50 cents now.  When you sign up online you will receive emails from them with chances to win more Box Tops, coupons, and recipes.  If you are currently signed up at a different school, you can change to Classen SAS by going onto the "Your Profile" tab and making the school change.  This is a great free way to generate funds for our school

SOMETHING WE ALL CAN AGREE ON:
THE RETURN OF THE OU BIG EVENT TO ClassenSAS IS GREAT NEWS.

ClassenSAS has been accepted as a job site for the April 5th, 2008 “Big Event at OU” - Be a part of the return of the CSAS “Big Help”  - NOW

Between 50 and100 OU student volunteers will arrive on  Saturday April 5th to paint rooms and do some heavy lifting.  We are in the process of confirming our the job specs with OU and need your help to get the job done right.

The goal is 10 rooms plus the the cafeteria.  The number of rooms that can be painted depends on the number of OU & CSAS volunteers who can be accommodated on painting day.  That number will depend on the degree to which CSAS parents can supplement the quantity of paint, brushes, rollers, etc that OU can donate.   OU should provide most, but not all of the paint, tools and supplies needed for their own volunteers.

Like last year, there is no money in the PTSA budget for this project.

1. To establish the $ budget, Pledges are needed now.   Whatever amount you are comfortable with is fine: $5, $15, $500 or $5000.  (Newsflash:  We have a pledge from the Netherlands!  Exchange student Jonah Gerth's mother called while I was typing this.)

2. To have an idea how many rooms that can be scraped, patched and taped, we are asking folks to tell us if you can set aside time the week before the Big Event to scrape, patch and tape.  Please say Yes!

3.  Volunteers also needed to help organize… minimal meetings!

We would need donations in hand by the end of March through the week of and after the Big Event (I will credit card most purchases - please don't leave me swinging in the wind, friends!)  A portion of the pledges will be reserved for "unexpected" expenses.  The remainder will be used to estimate the number of  extra OU volunteers that we will be able to put to work painting classrooms (and, we hope, the cafeteria) on April 5th.

Please reply to Barbara Rupert bdew@repairman.com with a cc to Jacci Rodgers, PTSA treasurer (jrodgers@okcu.edu), and let us know your name, the first and last name of your student, your telephone number and the amount of your pledge.  (Checks should be made out to CSAS PTSA with OUBigEvent in memo.)
