New picnic tables have been installed in the courtyard – be sure to take a minute to visit the improvements that have been made!  The next step is to increase the amount of art displayed, so watch for further developments.   Many thanks to the PTSA for purchasing the new tables, benches and trash cans, and to the small but mighty team of parents who assembled and installed them last night.  We hope it will be a great lunch place for students as well as an outdoor classroom alternative for those irresistible weather days.  For those parents who haven’t yet engaged in the project, look for a letter coming soon to your mailbox seeking donations for this long-awaited and desperately-needed eating area for our students.

MAPS For Kids arrived at Classen last week!  Meetings were held by The Facilities Group with teacher and parent groups to gather input on the first stage of the design process.  It is critical that we all be engaged in the process to ensure that we are able to maximize the long-awaited facilities improvements.  The parent meeting was attended by approximately 50 of our 2,000 parents, so participation in the process began with an extremely small voice.  The next meeting will be held sometime around February or March – if you are at all interested in the facilities available to our children, we all need to attend these important meetings!
