NEXT WEEK IS A "B" WEEK SO FRIDAY IS A "B" DAY

NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 21, MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY

PTSA GENERAL MEETING - Tuesday’s PTSA meeting will include an interpretation and results of the Classen EXPLORE, PLAN, practice ACT, and PSAT tests. These are tests that were taken by Classen students last fall. The meeting will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2008, from 11:30-12:30 in the Little Theatre (C Hall, Room C110).

BOARD MEETING  The MAPS plan for Classen will be on the school board agenda for Monday, January 28th.  We plan for the Classen parent group to attend this  meeting and speak on behalf of Classen.  Every source tells us that high attendance truly affects the outcome of the decisions made, so it is imperative that we have every possible parent, teacher and student attend the meeting on Monday, January 28, 5:30 PM, 900 N. Klein!  We will continue to spread information over the next two weeks.

ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS or GUARDIANS:  If your Senior missed placing their order with Jostens for cap & gowns, announcements and/or related graduation items, don't worry as Jostens will return next Thursday, January the 17th, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  If your child's order is less than $75.00, it must be paid-in-full; if the order exceeds $75.00, a deposit of $75.00 is required;  there is no handling fee if you are ordering only a cap and gown.

During the month of February, Seniors may pay their dues in the amount of $75.00 to Ms. Burkes.  It is the Exc. Bd.'s hope that with the Class of 2008's current balance in their activity account and $75.00 dues per student (136), all of the following expenses will be covered.

1. Commencement at the Cox Convention Center  2. Video of the Ceremony
3. Class Shirt                                                 4. Class Picture
5. Luncheon                                                   6. Classen SAS Medallion
7. Speaker Gifts                                              8. Senior Awards Ceremony

Each Senior has received a copy of this information.  Please direct any further questions to theClass Officers or Ms. Burkes.  We welcome your help and input.  Call 962-0224 if you would like to volunteer.

MISSING COMPUTER - My son's UMPC (school issued computer) was taken today during 2nd lunch. His name is Jonathan Hayes. Please check to make sure that it was not picked up mistakenly. His name is on the tag attached to the bag. You can reach me at 514-9047 (cell) or 587-0330 (office) if you find it or have any information regarding this matter. I believe, based on what my son shared,  that it can also be turned in to Mr. McAdoo.

Thank you in advance.
Tracy Hayes
