Seniors:
Welcome back to Capitol Hill!!  Your class officers for this year are Jose Garcia, Paola Garcia, Lidia Hernandez, Jaquilla Jackson, Jennifer Martinez, Tiffany Milspaugh, Edith Ontiveros, Cynthia Torres, Karla Torres, and Ismael Trujillo.

They are planning a memorable year for you.  If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let one of them or a sponsor know.

The most commonly asked questions are about dues and community service learning hours.

Ø     The senior dues are $150.  Here is the schedule of payments:

o       $20 due 9/12/07  This is required to order your senior t-shirt

o       $30 due 10/06/07  This is required to order your cap and gown

o       $40 due 11/14/07  This is required to order your yearbook

o       $30 due 2/27/08

o       $30 due 4/10/07  Failure to meet the deadlines will result in late fees.

         The senior dues pay for your senior t-shirt, cap and gown, senior breakfast ticket, yearbook and other projects and events sponsored by the senior class.  This does not pay for pictures, announcements, or anything you want to add to your yearbook. 

Ø     Each senior is required to perform 40 hours of community service this year, it used to be 72 hours, so you can’t complain.  If you are doing community service off campus, you must get prior approval from Ms. Trail.  Community service is helping the community and not yourself.  You may not get community service from your job or any place for which you get class credit, money, or any type of other benefits.

Calendar of Events:

September 12 –Deadline to pay deposit and order t-shirt

September 16 – Rose State College Visit 

September 18 – Senior Pictures.  Proofs will be sent home and orders made later.  You will pay     
   when you order.  Listen for announcements!

September 18-- Hall decorating for Homecoming.  We always beat the juniors, but this year our
  competition is the freshman class!  They’re organized and motivated!  It would be
  embarrassing to lose that one!!

September 19—Homecoming against SE High School

October 3 –        Large senior class picture in your senior t-shirt (this date may change.  Listen for  
  announcements!)

October 6 –        Jostens will be here to take your cap and gown order.  If you do not order
         one, then you will NOT have one for graduation.

October 9 and 10 -- 
          Jostens will be here to take orders for your announcements.  They will ask for a 
         deposit when you order.  This deposit has nothing to do with your senior dues. 
         Your parents are welcome to come in and order for you.  This will be during both
         lunches, please do NOT ask to get out of class.

October 15—     End of the first quarter

October 16-17—Fall Break

October 23—     Picture retakes

October 31—    Senior Night against Guthrie (spooky, huh?)

November 6—  Group Pictures

November 26, 26, and 28—
                           Thanksgiving Break

December 19 – End of the First Semester

Senior Breakfast and Farewell Gifts

Graduation (we don’t know yet.  Dr. Maxfield doesn’t know yet.  If you really have a need to know, call the board and ask them to give you a date.)

Additional Expenses:

Senior Color Fee is $7, payable to Mrs. Bruce.  This is not optional

Any and all senior pictures, individual or group—these are optional.

Any additional spirit t-shirts (spirit senior shirt $20) and CHHS hoodies ($30)—these are optional.

Announcements or any other novelty “Class of ‘08” item—these are optional

Yearbook Embellishments, such as your name plate.

If we schedule anything extra, we’ll keep you posted during announcements.
Announcements are read in the morning and afternoon, but it is up to you to listen!!!!!!
