The LTE project
is a year long study of new ways to integrate technology into instruction.
LTEs also receive technical training for simple troubleshooting issues
involving technology in your school. There are two LTEs from each
school and each LTE receives a stipend to attend one meeting a month and
participate in an online collaborative community. In this online
community, each LTE has access to many discussion boards, chat areas, and
much more through our unified messaging system.
Here are a few examples of what the LTEs are
doing:
- WebQuests
WebQuests are instructional strategies that involve cooperative
student learning to solve authentic problems in a real world context.
- Software Evaluation
and Purchasing
Your LTE is eligible to work with
the staff in your school to create a proposal for the purchase of
software for every teacher in the building. This goal of this
software is to benefit student achievement. Ask your LTE about
this today!
- Grant Writing
Show me the money!
- Online Journaling
Each LTE is asked to reflect on their experiences and record their
thoughts in an online journal called a BLOG. This is a great way
to view progress over time.
We believe that true professional development must occur
in a sustained and supportive way to be the most effective. This
project is designed to maximize the potential of each LTE and we are very
excited about the project. If you have any questions feel free to go
to our
discussion board and post your thoughts, comments, or
questions. |
