| Pajama Party Day! |

Homework is district policy that we must comply with. Homework will be given daily and will be due the following day. Homework is meant to establish a foundation for studying and will only require 10 to 15 minutes of everyone’s time. Let this be a positive time to share with your child. It also allows you to know what we are working on in the classroom. Homework will require scissors, glue, crayons, and pencils. Please do not use any other writing utensil other than a pencil. It is also very important to spend time reading to your child. Ask your child who, what, when, where and why types of questions. This will develop their vocabulary and comprehension skills. You will be amazed what your child will be able to read by the end of the school year.

Birthday celebrations are welcome in our class. If you would like to bring treats on your child’s birthday, we would love it! Please notify me a few days ahead so I can make sure we have plenty of time for the celebration. Cookies or cupcakes are easiest. If you choose to bring a cake you will need to provide plates, forks, napkins and a knife to cut the cake! Birthday treats are shared the last 30 minutes of class time. |

Fridays will be show and tell day. You child may bring something of interest from home. Live animals may be brought for show and tell but must be accompanied by an adult and must leave after their show time! We love to meet furry friends. Fridays are snack day. We will take turns all year bringing snack. The snack bucket will be sent home with your child when it is his/her turn. Be sure to return it on Friday with a snack for the class. Friday is also pickle and popcorn day! Pickles sale for 50¢ and popcorn is 25¢ a bag. Fridays are busy days for us! |
|
Morning session is from 8:30 to 11:00 and afternoon classes from 12:30 to 3:00. If your child arrives before 8:20 a.m. they must wait in the cafeteria until the students are released to go to class. Afternoon students should not arrive before 12:25. It is very important to be on time. If you need to check your child out of class early, please stop at the office and have them call the room for your child. This is less disruption to our schedule. Please notify the office if your child is going to be absent. Make-up work will be sent home with your child upon their return.

Please notify us of numbers that change during the course of the year. If a situation arises that we would need to get in touch with you it’s good to have this information close at hand. This is an exciting time for you and your child. We are excited to be a part of it. I you have any questions or concerns; please don’t hesitate to send a note so that we can work together for your child. |

Backpacks must be brought to school daily. Please look in them daily and keep their papers and school notes at home. This is a great way for you to stay informed of what your child is doing daily. Please do not bring a backpack with wheels. These backpacks are too big and bulky and they don’t fit on our hooks we are limited on space. I appreciate your help in this department. |
