IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS

Immunization records must clearly indicate which immunizations the child has been given, dates administered, and signatures or stamp of physician or agency giving immunization.

PROGRAM CALENDAR

The Child Care programs are open Monday through Friday. When the center is closed because of holidays, tuition will be prorated accordingly. The daily hours of operation are 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P. M. We try to limit the number of days we are closed, in order to meet the needs of our patrons. Please refer to the district calendar; we are closed when the district offices are closed. In the event schools are closed due to inclement weather the child care will be closed as well.

EXTENDED CHILD CARE

Our Extended Child Care is operational Monday through Friday, on a year round basis. Rates remain the same whether your child is present or not. Thus, on days when the child is absent for reasons of illness, rates will remain the same.

Drop-ins or Mother's Day Out are NOT components of the program.

On occasions, when the regular school program is not in session, care will be available for students participation in the Extended Day Program. If you choose to request the additional care during what is normally regular school hours, there will be an additional charge. This goes toward the employment of additional staff, snacks and material.

NOTE: If you enroll for child care during regular school, and your child does not attend, you will be held responsible for the child care tuition.

VACATIONS

During the fiscal year, children are permitted two weeks of vacation time from the Child Care programs, in addition to the regularly scheduled holidays. For the purposes of managing our centers we require one week prior notice for any absence to count as vacation time.

BEHAVIOR AND GUIDANCE

Corporal punishment in any form is not allowed in any Oklahoma City Public School, including Child Care programs.

The Child Care Staff of Oklahoma City Public Schools have 3 important goals when using techniques to guide children's behavior.

1. To insure a safe environment.

2.To promote children's sense of self.

3. To teach children self-control.

Our staff works to set good examples and guide children in an age appropriate manner. The Child Care program encourages cooperative behavior in all children. The child care staff consistently reinforces positive social skills that enhances the spirit of learning. We promote parental involvement in all aspects of their children's learning experience.
