Accelerated Reader (AR) is a program that the staff at Ridgeview has adopted to encourage students to read.  It is also used as a source to track reading development.  Our school has a wide range of reading material to fit every student's interest and ability level.

Prior to participating in the Accelerated Reader program, each student is asked to take a test using the STAR reading assessment.  This computerized test provides teachers with individual reading levels. After reading their AR book, they take a comprehension test on the computer. This is to see how well they understood and retained the theme, characters and settings from their story.
