Mark Twain Elementary Update
updated: November 21, 2006
Mark Twain is currently working towards the requirements of the No Child Left Behind federal legislation. Focusing on the child, we are changing our strategies to become a Professional Learning Community, focusing is on what is learned rather than what is taught. It must first be understood that the staff and administration of Mark Twain are utilizing all resources to overcome the high percentage of English Language Learners and students coming from an inner-city, 4th generation poverty area in a highly industrialized area. The staff and administration have a great respect for the culture of the community we serve, and we are striving daily to help them help themselves.
Below are several links that will allow you to look at our progress as a school in the areas of Reading, Math, and Parental Involvement. In addition there will be a break down of API scores and OSDE test comparisons that will give some insight to goals at Mark Twain Elementary. We welcome you to check back often for updated statistics.
Thank you,
Charles Tompkins
