Pre-K Informance on Numbers and Letters Students at Linwood Participated in Walk this Way Activities on October 8.
Walk this Way By: Carl Ompad 10/10/08 The school celebrated walk to school day on 10/8/08 and FedEx arrived at school. They talked about safety rules like when you walk home or ride a bike. When you ride your bike you need to always wear a helmet so if you fall off and hit your head it’s not going to hurt. When they finished talking about safety we got to beep the FedEx truck horn. Then we walked 1 lap and got back to the gym. We got to watch a puppet show about safety. The characters were Taffy and Todd. Taffy was a safe and Todd was not. Todd got in an accident and came back to Taffy and told her how to be a safe kid.

Linwood opened it's door in 1912. At that time it was a four room school. It replaced the old one room Ozom school located at N.W. 23rd and N. Portland. The land was originally donated by former Civil War veteran James Lynn. The school soon expanded and they added additional rooms in the late 1920 to early 1930's. Then in 1941, the Gymnasium, the area where the Computer Lab is now and Library were added. Linwood has continued to grow and thanks to the "Maps for Kids" program, we will be adding another addition in 2009. We hope that you will take the time to look through our website. It is full of information, but if you don't find what you are looking for, please email us. |
