Library News
Library books are due on Friday, May 21. Any students who have not turned in books by Friday will need to return or replace the missing book. We will send notes with each student beginning Monday. Report Cards will not be released if any books are owed to the library.
Textbooks All textbooks in adoption will be kept in the classroom. I will be giving you a copy of your textbook inventory so that you can see what you are missing. Any textbooks lost or damaged by a student must be paid for before the end of school. I have notes and prices available in the library if you need them.
I need to know if you have any textbooks that are out of adoption and you would like to get rid of them. We have a couple of options available and the one we choose will depend on how many books we need to get rid of. If you have books, just let me know what they are and how many.
1st Grade I need you to bring all the 1.5 Houghton Mifflin Readers to the library by the last day of school. I am going to have to put these back into the computer over the summer. If you will put your books in one stack and label them with your name, then I can return the same books to you with an updated inventory. Otherwise, I will just divide them up among the 1st grade teachers at the beginning of school next fall.
Book Fair Friday, May 21 Wednesday, May 26
Previews please sign up in the office for a preview time on Friday, May 21. If you bring your class to preview, you will receive $5 to spend at the book fair.
Purchase times On Friday, the regularly scheduled classes will use their library time for purchasing. Anyone else that brings money can use their regularly scheduled flexible time to shop. Just send a few at a time so we dont get overwhelmed with buyers!!!
Since we will not be having classes next week, please send any buyers during your flexible schedule time. Again, please send only a few at a time. It gets very crowded and we have to be available to help the younger ones.
Any volunteers are welcome. Volunteers can earn up to $6 in merchandise if two or more hours is volunteered.
