ARTHUR ELEMENTARY PARKING LOT POLICY

STUDENTS ARE NOT TO BE DROPPED OFF BEFORE 7:45 AM

For the safety of the students, please follow these rules for delivering and picking up children.

    1.  Parents parking in the staff parking lot must walk across the circular drive to pick up or drop off their children.  After school, students must stay on the sidewalk and wait for parents, or walk to the entrance or exit of the circular drive and wait at the curb.  Students will not be allowed to cross circular drive or parking lot unless escorted by an adult.

    2.  If parents are parked on Independence, the student is to follow the sidewalk to the entrance or exit of the circular drive.  There will be an adult at the entrance and exit of the circular drive to direct students to the cars parked on the east side of Independence.  Students are not to climb over or under the fence.

    3.  If parents park on the west side of Independence, they must walk children across Independence.  Teachers will not allow students to cross Independence without an adult escort.

    4.  When driving through the circular drive, do not stop in the outside lane and block traffic.  You may pull over on the right side and wait out of the line of traffic, but if there is no room to pull over, you  must continue to drive around the circle.  The traffic lane is to be left open at all times.  If you must come inside the building, park in the parking lot.

DO NOT PARK IN THE CIRCLE DRIVE

   5.  Students not picked up by 3:15 will be taken to the gym, and parents will need to come into the school to get them.

            School is out at 3:00 PM and teachers' workday ends at 3:30 PM.  If children are not picked up by 3:30 PM, the police will be called to pick up your child.

            Please follow these rules, as they were made out of concern for the safety of your children.  They will also improve the flow of traffic, thus, clearing the parking lot as quickly as possible.

            Our staff understands the importance of your time, and appreciates your cooperation in following these rules.  Additionally, this year our PTA has implemented the P.O.P. program.  Parents on patrol will be seen in the parking lot in bright orange vests.  They are there to help monitor traffic and help students cross the circle drive.

Estimados Padres,

            Por la seguridad de los estudiantes, por favor siga las siguientes reglas para recoger y dejar a sus hijos.

    1.  Los padres que se queden en el estacionamiento de los maestros deben caminar hasta lel semicirculo para recoger y dejar a sus hijos.  Después de horas de escuela los estudiantes deben de esperar en la acera y esperar a los padres en la entrada de el simicirculo.  Los estudiantes no se le permitirá cruzar si no estan acompañado por un adulto.

    2.  Si los padres se estacionan en Independence, el estudiante debe camina por la acera hasta la entrada o salida o del semicirculo.  Siempre habrá un adulto en la entrada y salida del simiciculo para dirigir a los niños a sus respectivos carros estacionados en el este de Independence.  Los estudiantes no deben brincar o pasarse por debajo de la valla alambrada.

    3.  Los padres se pueden estacionr en la calle 51, pero no en el lado oeste de Independence.  Los padres tienen que cruzar Independence y esperar en la banqueta para recoger a los niños.  Las maestras no permitirán que los niños crucen Independence si no van acompañados de un adulto.

    4.  Cuando entre al semicirculo, no pare y detenga el tráfico si su hijo no está la vista.  Usted puede hacerse a un lado y esperar, pero si no hay lugar para parase, debe continuar manejando alrededor del semicirculo.  El carril de tráfico debe permanecer libre a toda hora.

    5.  Los estudiantes que no sean recogidos a las 3:15 serán llevados al gimnasio y los padres tendrán que entrar hasta la escuela para recojerlos.  Escuela termina a las 3:00 PM.  Y las maestras terminan su trabajo a las 3:30 PM.  Si los estudiantes no se han recojido para las 3:30 PM, se llamará a la policía.

          Por favor siga estas reglas, ya que fueron hechas por la seguridad de sus hijos.  Además, esto mejorará el tráfocp u audará a descongestionar el estacionamiento tan pronto como sea posible.

        Nuestro personal entiende lo importate que es su tiempo, y aprecia su cooperacíón siguendo dichas reglas.
