Text Box:      Sequoyah Book Awards   Students in the 3rd through 6th  grade who have read or listened to at least 3 of the titles from the Children’s Master list are eligible to vote for their favorite Children’s Sequoyah Book Award.  This award is exclusive to the state of Oklahoma.       The Caldecott Medal   This award is presented annually by the Association of Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist (illustrator) of the most distinguished American picture book for children.            The Newbery Medal   This award is presented annually by the Association of Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the writer (author) of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
