Safe Harbor (SH) can be achieved by:

bullet

decreasing the percent of students scoring below satisfactory by 10% and making progress, or

bullet

exceeding the additional indicator performance target, or

bullet

demonstrating a 10% increase in the difference between the previous year’s math and/or reading/language arts API score(s), and the upper API limit of 1500 (New amendment allowed for 2003-2004).

A Confidence Interval (CI) is generated for schools or districts without an n of 30 for All Students.  A confidence interval may be applied to the current year’s math or reading scores in order to make an AYP determination.
