·       caribou – a large deer; also called a reindeer

·       climate – the usual weather of a place, including its temperature and precipitation

·       colony – land that is settled far from the country that governs it

·       continent – one of Earth’s seven large landmasses

·       culture – the language, religion, customs, and traditions of a group of people

·       mosaic – a picture made up of many small pieces of colored tile

·       multicultural – having people from many different cultures and backgrounds

·       rebel – to fight against something

·       rodeo – a gathering at which cowboys show off their roping and riding skills

·       traitor – someone who betrays, or turns against, his or her country
