Accomplishments
2006-2007

I.          Building and Grounds:
            A.
  New playground equipment purchased for 3/5th grade playground area
            B.  PTA purchased and installed new pavilion.
            C.  Life Church volunteers painted playground equipment and exterior of building,
            landscaped, trimmed trees, and installed dry erase boards in classrooms.

II.         Parents and Community:

A.  Reading Tutoring Program served students on an individual basis
      (tutors from SW Kiwanis Club, Character First, and RSVP members).
B.  PTA membership was increased from 122 in 2005/06 to 144 in 2006/07.           
C.  Parent Advisory Board established for input and feedback
      (student curriculum rewritten in lay terms and sent home to all parents quarterly.           

III.        Students:

A. Fifth grade school service program continued
     (Announcement Helpers, Flag Attendants, Student Council and Attendance Helper)
B.  Student Council instrumental in planning and carrying out school pride projects         
(new playground equipment purchased, bathroom stall door locks installed).
C.
11 fifth grade students earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award.
D.  Spring achievement test performance:

State minimum api: Reading = 914, Math = 932
All Students api:      Reading  1001, Math = 942

             3rd Grade -   Math performance increased from 64% to 67%, api = 982

                                     Reading performance increased from 70% to 87%,  api = 1060

                                     Only one 3rd grade student qualified for Summer RSA Academy

                                     Math Squads: 22 of 32 students passed CRT (70%) 

            4th Grade -     Math performance = 55%, api = 575

                                     Reading performance = 78%, api = 784 

            5th Grade -   Math performance increased from 74% to 87%, api = 1230.

                                    Reading performance increased from 69% to 78%, api = 1134.
                                 

            Hispanic Reading                increased form 241 to 802

            ELL Total API                        increased form 311 to 699                         

            Special Ed. Total API           increased from 165 to 511             

                                                                       

IV.       Faculty and Staff:

            Two teachers received National Board Certification.
